Strategies[]

This exercise is medium to get accuracy badges because it always asks for multiplication of fractions. The speed badges are easy once students get into the groove and know what to look for on the yes or no question.

  1. The numbers are small so calculators are not a great help.
  2. On the Should multiply problem it seemed easier to perform the multiplication first and then decide if that answer was reasonable in context.

Real-life Applications[]

  1. Fractions appear in every day media to show information to consumers.
  2. Fractions are used in real life in lots of different ways, but are commonly used in cooking, construction and science.
