Strategies[]

This exercise is easy to get accuracy badges because the decimals are terminating and the denominators are easily comparable to ten. speed badges are also easy because converting the fractions can be done quickly because of the convenient denominators.

  1. Multiply or divide the numerator and denominator by a number to make the denominator a power of ten, then it is as easy as 'reading' the number.
  2. A calculator can be used to do the problems in the speed needs, but it violates the purpose of the exercise and is truly unnecessary here.

Real-life Applications[]

  1. Fractions appear in every-day media to display information to consumers.
