Math Missions: | 6th grade (U.S.) Math Mission, 7th grade (U.S.) Math Mission, 8th grade (U.S.) Math Mission, High school geometry Math Mission, Mathematics I Math Mission |
Types of Problems: | 2 |
The Coordinate plane problems in all four quadrants exercise appears under the 6th grade (U.S.) Math Mission, 7th grade (U.S.) Math Mission, 8th grade (U.S.) Math Mission and High school geometry Math Mission and Mathematics I Math Mission. This exercise practices graphing in the coordinate plane with word problems.
Types of Problems[]
There are two types of problems in this exercise:
- Plot the point: This problem describes a situation that uses the coordinate plane as a grid. The user is asked to plot the points corresponding to a route or other request on the plane.
Plot the points
- Plot the point, give answer: This problem describes a situation that uses the coordinate plane and also a final goal or destination. The user is expected to plot the requested points and also provide the answer to the question.
Plot the points, give answer
Strategies[]
Knowledge of graphing and ability to read directions are necessary to do well on this problem. Accuracy badges and speed badges should be considered difficult because the problems require a fair amount of intense concentration to get correct.
- It is possible to use the destination in certain problems as a guide to the points that need to be plotted which can shorten times.
- A mouse can make this problem work faster than a touchpad.
