Description
Exercise Name: Comparing lengths
Math Missions: Early math Math Mission
Types of Problems: 1

The first instance of Comparing lengths is under the Early math Math Mission. This exercise uses a ruler to measure two objects and then asks a sequence of questions about those measurements.

Types of Problems[]

There is one type of problem in this exercise:

  1. Measure the objects and compare: This problem requires the user to measure the lengths of two similar shapes. They answer the lengths of the shapes, and then decide how much shorter or longer the first one is compared to the second one.
    Coml1

    Measure the objects and compare

Strategies[]

This exercise is easy to get accuracy badges because the measurements are short and the ruler is placed well. The amount of questions that need to be answered make this hard difficulty for speed badges.

  1. Do not move the ruler. It is in the ideal place to begin with.
  2. Users can just see the length of the first object and the second and use this information to answer all four questions without having to refer to the picture again. Remembering the four answers after seeing the initial lengths can increase their speed a little bit anyway.

Real-life Applications[]

  1. Measurements are used for many things, such as cooking, and for placing carpet.
