- Do arithmetic on the fractions: This problem has a situation described where it is necessary to add fractions together or subtract fractions from each other. The student is expected to find the correct answer and insert it in the area provided.

- Select the answer: This problem describes a situation and a question related to the situation. The student is asked to select the correct solution from a list of options.

- Missing step: This problem describes a worked out arithmetic problem involving fractions with one step missing. The student is asked to select the missing step from a list of possibilities.

Strategies[]
This exercise is easy to get accuracy badges the numbers involved are not very large and many of them can be done with only changing one fraction. The speed badges are also easy as long as user is careful in their reading because the time tolerances are fair.
- The fractions will always have denominators that are not the same, so students will need to know how to make common denominators before adding.
- On some of the "Select the answer problems users can get the right solution by estimating the fraction. For example, if two pieces are each less than half the total, they cannot add to be more than a whole.
- If the Missing step problem has a blank in the second line, look for the denominators that give the same product, and once found take the solution that has the same digit above the second number on both fractions.
- If the Missing step problem has a blank on the third line, find the answer choice with common denominators, and once found take the solution that has the correct sum of the numerators.
- The problems recycle fairly often (less than twenty-five or so).
